HappyRec's voice changer is pure signal processing — pitch and formant shifting, not AI voice cloning or text-to-speech — so it works the same in any spoken language, with no delay you'd notice while talking.
Enable the voice changer from the main window or Preferences → Camera & Mic, in either Screen or Voice Record mode. You'll hear the effect live as you speak — use "Hear my voice" to audition a preset before you start recording.
| Preset | What it does |
|---|---|
| Natural | Your voice, untouched — full quality, no processing |
| Male / Female | Shifts pitch and vocal-tract formants together for a natural-sounding conversion, not just a sped-up or slowed-down recording |
| Chipmunk | High pitch, playful and exaggerated |
| Robot | Decimated, mechanical tone |
| Anonymous | Pitched down and filtered for voice privacy |
| Cave | Deep reverb, cavernous space |
| Radio | Band-limited, old-broadcast character |
Every preset has two sliders on top of it — Pitch and Character (formant) — so you can nudge the conversion to sit right for your specific voice rather than a generic average one.
Whatever you hear in the live preview is exactly what gets recorded — the processed voice is what's written to your mic track, always as the first audio track in the file, so any player defaults to it over system audio.
